The Murray CMA covers a total of 12 Local Government Areas (LGAs), plus a small part of 2 others. This section of the Murray CMA website has been developed to assist Local Government's understanding of the Murray CMA and to improve access to resources of the Murray CMA.
Shared Vision
The Murray Catchment Management Authority (Murray CMA) works with the community, local government and land managers to set future directions for natural resource management in the Murray Catchment. Local Government works with the community to efficiently and effectively provide community leadership, services and facilities in a manner that meets the economic, environmental and social needs of the community.
There is considerable overlap in these visions with the similarity being to:
.... set future directions on behalf of the community to ensure a sustainable environment which supports economically and socially viable communities
It is this shared vision that enables the development of positive relationships and partnerships which are of benefit not only to each organization but also the community. Integrated Planning is a positive way forward for council and the CMA.
