Local Events2009 Conservation Farmer of the Year Award... entries now closedThe Murray CMA, in conjunction with the Conservation Agriculture and No-Till Farming Association Inc. (CANFA) are calling for applications for the regional and state wide "Conservation Farmer of the Year". For the first time landholders in the four catchments of Murray, Murrumbidgee, Lachlan and Central West are eligible to enter. The Murray CMA will sponsor two winners from the Murray region (one from the plains and one from the slopes) to attend the CANFA annual conference to be held 29 July 2009 in Dubbo. Regional winners from the four catchments will contest for the title of NSW Conservation Farmer of the Year and be eligible for a $5,000 prize. 2009 Murray Catchment Natural Resource Management Awards Entries now closed
The Murray CMA is on the lookout for individuals and groups who deserve to be recognised for their work in tackling environmental and agricultural issues from the ground up. 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of Landcare: to celebrate, the Murray CMA would like to reward the individuals and groups who have made an outstanding contribution to natural resource management, sustainable agriculture and Landcare.
We invite you to nominate yourself, your neighbour, a friend, a local school, Landcare group, community group, business or local council for one of the 8 awards. Winners will receive $500 and all finalists will have complimentary tickets to the Murray Natural Resource Management Awards evening to be held in Corowa on 19th June. Regional winners will be nominated for the NSW State Landcare Awards to be held in September at Port Macquarie.

To enter, simply fill out the application form for the relevant award category. There is no limit to how many people and projects you may nominate, so please tell us of the wonderful projects and inspirational people of your area.
